The company was founded by Gruff Brothers, James Man and Shephered Neames in the year 1698 as a Brewery House in UNITED KINGDOM. We then started Food & Beverages supplies to Royal Navy in 1782 and began trading commodities like Candle Auctions, Sugar, Cocoa, Tea, Coffee and other commodity auctions in LONDON Coffee Houses. We then developed quality products research and development.
In modern times the company was promoted by STANNY GRUFF, FRANK, PATRIC, DAVE and Ms. EVA JAMES. STANNY GRUFF has over 30 years of business experience and was instrumental in setting up our first SUPER STORE and SUPER SAVE STORES [S³]. Incorporated on August 21, 1990, Uni Gruff Inc. went public in Oct. '91 as a government-recognized export house.
The company operates in agro-based industry — Manufacturing, Consulting, Promoting, Pharmaceuticals, Sales, Marketing and Processing a wide range of canned, bottled and processed vegetables, fruits and foods for the export, import and domestic markets (capacity: 12,600 tpa). Within the country, we market FOODS, PROCESSED-FOODS, SMART-FOODS, NON-FOODS, LIFE-STYLES, HEALTHCARE and INFRASTRUCTURE.
Research and Development of our brands will be exported to 32 countries out of UK & Europe. We also promote the INDIAN market with high demand of imported products. The Indian food line is a major contributor to turnover, marketed through Super Saver Stores [S³], London Spices Stores, Uni Gruff Dryfruits & Pickles Papad Stores in LONDON, MIAMI, EUROPE and across the world under HIMKIN, Swarnabogh, Joyfresh, Jetter, Jetter-Temptation and Ashoka brands.
Uni Gruff Inc. has established marketing and sales networks over two decades in the US, UK, Germany, West Asia, Singapore, East Asia and Australia. In 1995–2010, the company successfully completed expansion and modernization at facilities in Brussels, Vancouver, Otaya, Accra, Montevideo, Manila, London, Liverpool, India and Busan to manufacture all SMART FOODS, NON-FOODS and HEALTHCARE. During the year, our VANCOUVER & LONDON factory was awarded the prestigious ISO 9002 certification by BVQI, UK.
The company has tied up with a new partner in Sep. 2010 for distribution of products in the Healthcare market in INDIA, and for introduction of select products in the mainstream UK market. During 1999–2000 we launched "VITTLES" & "VIANDS" brands of SMART FOODS in U.S., well received in U.S. and Canada. Another premium brand "CLASSIC ASHOKA" was introduced in U.K. & U.S. markets, covering authentic Mexican and ready meals in Tin Pack. The company changed its name to "LEVER & MAN GROUP" from December 1989. To launch frozen foods in UK, a subsidiary was incorporated in 1989-90. The company is planning to set up a factory in INDIA & SOUTH EAST ASIA as part of its expansion plans — originally Feb 2020, postponed due to PANDEMIC, now resumed July 2021.
